Robert Porter hails from the community of Porterville in Central Newfoundland. A graduate of Memorial University, he has been practicing medicine in Newfoundland and elsewhere since 1992. He currently practices Emergency Medicine and holds an appointment in the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial. He and his wife Shelley live in St. John’s with their four boys. Having an interest in writing all his life, in 2009 he embarked on his first novel, a mystery/thriller which eventually became known as Disturbing Pieces. Disturbing Pieces was published by Strategic Book Group in November 2010 (ISBN 978-1-60976-422-7). It is available at online retailers in Canada and the US.
